THE IMPORTANT BIT
Questions People Often Ask
Getting Started
-
Absolutely. Many people experience breathwork for the first time with me, whether that's in a One-to-One session, Breathe Love, or Your Season. You don't need any experience or special knowledge - just a willingness to arrive exactly as you are and some curiosity!
-
If you're looking for a gentle introduction, Breathe Love is a wonderful place to begin. If you'd like more personal support, One-to-One sessions offer dedicated space that's completely tailored to you. If you know you'd benefit from continuity over time, Your Season is designed to gently support lasting change. If you're unsure, book a free call and we'll work it out together.
-
Not at all. Some people come because they're navigating grief, anxiety or change. Others simply want to feel more connected to themselves. You don't have to wait until life feels difficult to make space for your emotional wellbeing.
-
What happens in a breathwork session?
Every breathwork session begins with conversation. We'll explore what's brought you here before moving into a guided breathing practice supported by carefully curated music. Afterwards, there's time to reflect and gently integrate whatever has emerged.
-
For most people, yes. Before your first breathwork session you'll complete a confidential health questionnaire so we can make sure the practice is suitable for you. If you have any medical concerns, please get in touch before booking.
-
Yes, although I recommend avoiding a large meal immediately beforehand. A light snack one to two hours before your session usually feels most comfortable. You'll be lying down for the breathwork, so arriving neither hungry nor overly full tends to create the best experience.
-
It depends on which experience you're joining.

Everything you need is provided in my studio. The only thing I'd recommend bringing is a cushion to make sound into during the breathwork.Online Sessions
I'll send you a simple guide beforehand to help you prepare your space. A yoga mat or comfortable place to lie down, a blanket, a pillow and some water are all you'll need. Not sure?
Just get in touch - I'm always happy to help. -
Yes. Most people feel calm, grounded and clear afterwards, although everyone's experience is different. I always leave time at the end of the session for you to settle before you head home.
If you can, I'd encourage you to keep some space aside for yourself, so you have time to notice what continues to unfold.
-
Every experience is different. Some people leave feeling lighter, calmer or deeply relaxed. Others notice more clarity, emotion or energy. Often, the biggest shifts continue to unfold over the following few days as your mind and body gently integrate the experience.
If emotions have surfaced during the session, you may also feel a little tender afterwards. That's completely normal. If you can, give yourself permission to move a little more slowly, drink plenty of water and create some space to notice what continues to unfold with kindness and curiosity.
-
A little is absolutely fine if that's part of your normal routine. If possible, I'd avoid drinking a large amount immediately beforehand, as caffeine can make it a little harder for some people to fully settle into the experience.
-
Yes. It's best to arrive without alcohol in your system so you can be fully present and get the most from the experience. If you've been drinking, I'd recommend booking for another day.
-
Absolutely. You're always in charge of your own experience. I'll gently guide you throughout the session, but you're free to slow down, pause or return to your normal breathing whenever you need to. My role is to support you, never to push you.
-
That's completely normal. Many people feel a little apprehensive before their first session, especially if they don't know what to expect. We'll begin with conversation, and you'll never be asked to do anything before you feel ready. We move at your pace.
-
You don't need to. In fact, many people come because their minds feel busy. The rhythm of the breath gives your attention somewhere gentle to rest, which is one of the reasons people who struggle with meditation often find breathwork so helpful.
-
Absolutely. You don't need to be spiritual or believe anything in particular. My approach is grounded, practical and rooted in curiosity about how we relate to ourselves. You're welcome exactly as you are.
-
Only if you'd like to. Some people arrive with a clear intention, while others simply know they want to feel different. There's never any pressure to share more than feels comfortable.
-
Yes. Breathwork can bring a wide range of emotions and sensations, and every response is welcome. Some people cry, some laugh, some feel peaceful, and others simply rest quietly. There's no right or wrong experience.
-
Please let me know before your session. You'll complete a confidential health questionnaire when you book, and if there's anything we need to discuss beforehand, we'll do that together. Your safety is always my priority.
About Breathwork
-
Breathwork is a guided breathing practice that helps regulate the nervous system, quiet the thinking mind and reconnect you with your body. My sessions combine breathwork with thoughtful conversation, guided self-enquiry and carefully curated music to create a gentle, supportive experience.
-
My approach is never about forcing an experience. We move at your own pace, working gently within your window of tolerance. Breathwork becomes a way of listening to yourself rather than trying to fix yourself.
-
Not quite. Both encourage presence, but many people who find meditation difficult because they have a busy mind find breathwork easier. The rhythm of the breath gives your mind something to gently focus on while the rest of you begins to settle.
-
Music has a remarkable way of helping us feel what words sometimes can't. Every soundtrack is carefully curated to support the emotional journey of each breathwork session.
-
No. Every experience is unique because you're never the same person twice. Your body, your nervous system and your life are constantly changing, so each session meets you where you are that day.
-
Many people find breathwork helps them feel calmer, more grounded and more connected to themselves. While it's not a replacement for medical or psychological treatment, it can be a valuable practice for supporting emotional wellbeing and nervous system regulation. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
-
Counselling and breathwork complement one another beautifully. Sometimes understanding begins through conversation; sometimes it begins through the body. My work brings both together, allowing you to explore with words and experience.
One-to-One Breathwork Sessions
-
If you're looking for dedicated time that's entirely shaped around you, this is often the best place to begin. Every One-to-One breathwork session is personalised to what's present for you on the day.
-
A One-to-One session gives us two hours together. Your Season includes three sessions over six to eight weeks, with support in between - giving us more time to build trust, notice patterns and support lasting change.
-
Absolutely. Some people return every few months, or when life feels challenging, while others decide they'd like the continuity of Your Season. We'll always find a rhythm that feels right for you.
-
Yes. One-to-One breathwork sessions are available both online and in person from my studio in Poole, Dorset. Many people are surprised by how powerful online breathwork can be.
Your Season
-
Your Season is for those moments in life when one session doesn't feel quite enough. Three sessions give us the time to build trust, notice patterns and gently support meaningful change.
-
Real change often unfolds over time. Three sessions allow us to continue the conversation, deepen the breathwork practice and integrate what emerges between each experience.
-
Life continues to unfold between our sessions, and that's often where the real integration happens. You'll also have the option of a short integration call to support you between appointments.
-
Absolutely. We’ll book your next session at the end of the first and you’re welcome to choose whatever way suits you.
A Session for Two
-
This experience is for partners, close friends, siblings, parents and adult children - any two people who'd like to strengthen connection, navigate change or simply create meaningful time together.
-
No. It's a guided breathwork experience which is therapeutic. Many couples find it deepens communication and understanding, but it's equally valuable for friends and family members.
-
Yes. Like my other private experiences, A Session for Two can take place online or in person.

Creative Teams
-
Because some conversations happen more naturally after we've had a chance to slow down. Breathwork creates space for people to arrive, reconnect with themselves and each other, and experience something meaningful together. Whether you're celebrating, marking a new chapter or bringing a team together, it's an experience people often remember long after the day itself.
-
These experiences are designed for creative teams, agencies, founders, charities and organisations who want to support the wellbeing of their people while encouraging creativity, connection and clearer thinking.
-
Yes. No previous experience is needed. Everything is gently guided and designed to help everyone feel comfortable, whatever their experience.
-
Breathwork can help teams slow down, reconnect with themselves and each other, regulate stress and create space for clearer thinking. Many teams also notice improved communication, creativity and a greater sense of connection afterwards.
-
Yes. I can facilitate sessions at your workplace, off-site days, conferences, retreats, online or another venue that suits your team.
