She's Illuminated: A Lockdown Project That Still Means the World to Me
She’s Illuminated began during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 lockdown, at a time when so many of us were looking for connection, meaning and honest conversation.
I wanted to create a space for people whose stories I found compelling - people I had worked with, learnt from or come to know over the years. Together, we explored grief, healing, creativity, relationships, identity and the moments in life that ask us to let go of who we have been.
As my own work grew and began to include people of all genders, the podcast evolved too, becoming The Illuminated. The name changed, but the heart of it remained the same: thoughtful conversations about the experiences that shape us and the courage it takes to keep becoming.
Over 18 episodes, I had the privilege of speaking with guests including Donna Lancaster, James Wythe, Nasreen El-Mariesh, Sydney Zwicker, Jillian Redrow, Lili Pettit, Keri Bainborough, Marta Wanderlust and Kimm Fearnley.
Although the podcast has been quiet for a while, it is not something I feel I have completely put down. There is still a part of me that would love to continue it, perhaps in a new form, so keep an eye out for whatever its next iteration might become!
And if you host a podcast, have found your way here and are curious to learn more about my work, Let’s talk.
